Ring of Beara; the lesser known touring circuit with outstanding coastal and mountain scenery and one of the most attractive sections on the Wild Atlantic Way touring route. This peninsula is the homeland of the O'Sullivan clan. At Ardgroom we leave the main road and go coastal with a visit to the sea caves at Cuas.  We visit the lovely colourful villages of Eyries, home of the film Falling for a Dancer, and Allihies which had a copper mining boom in the early 1800's, many of the miners moving to Bute, Montana after the closure of the mine. Leaving Allihies we travel to Dursey Sound and have a view of the former Viking stronghold, Dursey Island. (Dursey Island accessible by Europe's only Island Cablecar  is a seperate day trip. The lunchstop is in Castletownbere, one of Irelands leading fishing ports. Option of return via Glengariff & Bonane or over the Healy Pass with an incredible view down to Glanmore Lake and out to Kenmare Bay.
